One of the first towns we’ll be riding through is Michigan City, Indiana. This small city is found at the southern end of beautiful Lake Michigan. It’s a popular place for people to stay, as it’s very close to a newly-named national park, Indiana Dunes.

An interesting fact about a Michigan City resident: Naomi Bowman Talbert Anderson, born in 1843 in Michigan City, was an African American suffragist, poet, temperance leader, civil rights activist, and writer who advocated for equal rights for all genders and races.
