Chesterton, Indiana is a scenic town located on the south shore of Lake Michigan. It’s a busy place during the summer months because of its proximity to Indiana Dunes National Park. But to get to know Chesterton, you need to look beyond the beach. In addition to the dunes, the landscape includes prairies, wetlands and farmlands. Many artists are drawn to and inspired by its natural beauty.

After a major fire in the downtown Chesterton in 1902, an attractive business district was built, and is featured on the National Register of Historic Places. The town park is home to one of Indiana’s oldest bandstands, built in 1924.
