CWS is fortunate to have Sister Lisa Polega, SCN, joining the ride. Sister Lisa lives and ministers in Louisville, Kentucky, as an Advocacy Supervisor at CASA—Court Appointed Special Advocate. CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in court and other settings.

Lisa is excited to join the CWS 65-mile ride because “it is a tangible expression of the freedom, strength, and flexibility that mirrors the journey of religious life.” She’s looking forward to meeting other riders and discovering what motivates them to ride.

As she rides, she’ll be remembering migrating people in her prayer. “While migration is a global issue, undocumented people, refugees and asylum-seeking people are present in our local communities and neighborhoods. I truly believe that most migrants are sincerely looking for security, economic opportunities, and freedom for their families and themselves that are basic human rights. They have a special place in my heart.”
